Let's talk dreams... So often we as people become complacent with where we are in life. That's funny because as children we are taught to follow our dreams, told that we can be whatever & whomever we want to be. "The sky is the limit! If you reach for the moon you will surely land amongst the stars!!" So why is it that in adulthood we like to play it safe??? What happens? I can answer that question for you...LIFE HAPPENS!
I mean come on, we aspire to be GREAT...movie stars, singers, dancers, writers, doctors, police officers, fire fighters. As children, we aspire to be rich, wealthy, prosperous, to have LIFE IN ABUNDANCE! We have NO FEAR. Then, as we continue to live & learn, we allow the experiences of others to intrude on our own aspirations & dreams. Their GRIM REALITIES BECOME OUR LIFE! We begin to limit ourselves, to speak negativity into our lives. We end up working jobs that pay just enough for us to make it from one paycheck to 3 days before the next paycheck. We settle for the norm. We close our minds to POSSIBILITIES...we limit ourselves to the experiences of others who have settled for less.
My concern is for our children today? What are we really teaching them? What are they learning? Do we really want to show the children how to fail when they themselves are our future! We are our present but THE CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!! I look in the eyes of my own children & I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is imperative that they see me living my dream. It is imperative that MY children see that I have a STRONG WORK ETHIC, that I AM A WINNER! I challenge each & everyone reading this post to make a difference in your life & in the life of a child. What else is there to do? REALLY...WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO?
